Emergence: Embracing the Season of Renewal and Growth

The Worm Moon, which takes place in March, represents emergence—the transition from the cold, dormant winter to the vibrant, growing spring. It’s a time to plant the seeds of what you want to emerge into. This moon is all about coming into your full self, removing buried fears, and embracing your authentic, true nature. It’s about realizing that it’s time to emerge and be seen for who you truly are. Fear always, always slows us down. Pick a mantra, a saying that instantly pulls you out of your fear. When you recognize yourself slipping into that pattern, say something like, I have no fear. Fear has no hold on me, and move forward.

We are all like the seeds buried beneath the earth, waiting to sprout and grow into the fullest version of ourselves. The full moon season and springtime are a beautiful reminder that it’s our time to grow beyond who we used to be. So, whether you're 24 or 73, spiritual spring is a time to grow into more. You are not too young, and you are never too old to plant a seed into your life and allow yourself to bloom into what you desire. Does this mean at 73 you can plant a seed to be 24? Of course not, but you can plant the seed to feel amazing, to do something you’ve never done, and to feel like your true self. Same at any age—you only hold yourself back by not deciding. If you make the decision to emerge, then this can be the change that needs to happen, and nothing will hold you back. Think of this: if a seed is planted and watered, it will grow into what it’s meant to be. You are the seed.

What are you emerging into? Maybe you are emerging into a new career, a new self-image, or a new practice of spirituality. Perhaps it’s a renewed sense of health, wellness, or love. Whatever it may be, this is the season to emerge and align yourself with the power of new beginnings.

Why Full Moon Emergence?

In many traditions, full moons are known as times of release and letting go, while the new moon is typically when we step into our new beginnings. However, this Worm Moon brings a unique energy. As we enter into both the full moon season and spring, we’re in a powerful position to let go of what no longer serves us while simultaneously embracing a new phase of growth. This isn't about a total transformation overnight; it’s about nurturing what’s already growing within you and allowing it to flourish.

Why talk about emergence during the full moon instead of the new moon? The answer is simple: this is a time of massive potential. It’s not just about shedding the old; it’s about growing beyond what no longer serves you and stepping into a new cycle. Full moons shine a light on what we’ve learned and experienced, while spring gives us the fertile soil we need to bring new growth into being. It’s time to step into who you are meant to be—no longer in the shadows of fear, self-doubt, or hesitation. The time is now.

“But only a person in the depths of despair neglected to look beyond winter to the spring that inevitably followed, bringing back color and life and hope.”
– Mary Balogh

In fact, as we prepare to transition into this new season, there’s a ritualistic power in recognizing that we don’t just shed—we grow beyond.

Acknowledging the Power of the Moon: The Blood Moon, Virgo, and Eclipse Energy

The Worm Moon is special this year because it coincides with a Blood Moon, which makes it particularly powerful. The Blood Moon is rare and has been historically associated with spiritual awakening and transformation. Many native cultures see it as a time to honor spiritual growth and inner evolution. The energy of the Blood Moon calls on us to step into our higher selves—awakening and expanding into the next level of being.

Couple this with the Virgo moon’s grounding influence, and we have the perfect energy for growth and emergence. Virgo is all about self-improvement and focusing on practical, grounded actions. The Virgo moon urges us to focus on the details, clean up what needs tidying, and create space for new growth.

When combined with the power of the eclipse, which is all about revelation and sudden changes, this full moon brings an incredibly potent mix of energies that guide us toward personal growth, transformation, and spiritual evolution. The eclipse amplifies everything, helping to reveal what needs to change so that we can move forward in alignment with our true selves.

I like to call this the Phoenix Moon—what a magnificent time to rise from the ashes of our old selves and emerge anew. It’s time to step into our own light, to bloom with grace and confidence, and to let go of everything that doesn’t serve us anymore. You can arise from the ashes, from that which has left you feeling not like yourself, become more, and allow that phoenix energy to protect and push you towards all you desire. It is your destiny if you desire it.

The Ritual of Emergence

A simple yet powerful ritual to honor this time is to write down all the old patterns, beliefs, and habits that no longer serve you. What are you willing to release in order to step into your fullest self? Once you’ve written them down, put your energy into letting them go. Squish the paper hard and dispose of it—rip the paper or burn it. This process is symbolic of letting go of what’s holding you back and embracing the new. Take a moment to truly feel the weight lifting from you as you move forward. Now you can step into the moving forward, the emerging, planting your seed into more.

As you move into this season, I invite you to consider adding things to a ceremony that will remind you of what you are choosing to emerge into. You could light a green spring candle to represent new growth and a red candle for the Blood Moon to symbolize the power of transformation. You might also add to your ceremony by planting a seed in a new pot of soil. This will symbolize your intentions to grow and bloom during this season of emergence. If you’d rather, you could gather some buds, or maybe a new growth flower. This is for you. Do what feels good. At the end, don’t forget to take the time to put your energy into more. As the candles burn down, you can even list or write all that you are choosing to bloom into. It’s good to have for the next while to reference back to.

The Next Two Weeks: A Time to Nurture Your Emergence

As we move into the next two weeks, here are some ideas for stepping into your emergence:

Set Intentions for the Next Cycle
If you’re a journal keeper, write your intentions in a book, or if you’re emerging into something new, maybe start a journal for that. You could also keep one digitally, or even write things on a list on your wall. Maybe you write on your mirror. Maybe you don’t write at all but do a picture list or collage. Go for a different energy here—make it fun and unique!

Try Something New
Why not try something you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t yet? At home, you could start a collage, enter a new class, or pick up a new hobby. Maybe this is not the season to do it right away, but start exploring. Even if you don’t dive in fully, put yourself in a spring class you’ve always wanted to try! Start a book you’ve always wanted to read. Plan for a project you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t even started. You get the idea.

Kindness to Yourself
Dedicate a month to appreciating yourself. Create an appreciation journal about yourself, acknowledging your strengths, accomplishments, and dreams. Allow this to be a time to really nurture your inner spirit. You are magnificent, don’t forget it.

Celebrate Your Growth
Celebrate your emergence with fun and light-hearted activities. Maybe you start a Glimmer Journal to write down moments of beauty and awe, or indulge in a relaxing bubble bath to honor yourself. You could add a marble or beautiful glass bead to a jar for each moment, building a beautiful vase full of memories and light. Remember, it’s not just about the big things; it’s about the small, sweet moments that fill you up with joy.

Play, Play, Play!
This is always my message and the message of the club—play is the life blood of happiness and tapping into the part of yourself you don’t always go to. Embrace play like never before. Go beyond your usual ways of having fun—maybe you explore a new type of dance, paint freely, or simply allow yourself to daydream. You blow bubbles in the park, you put your feet and hands in soil, you dance around the walking track. Play, dammit!!

Channeling from Spirit: Words of Empowerment (New Section This Week For You!)
Oh, my darlings, you are so amazing, and you can plant the seeds of your emergence at any time you want. As you start right now, remember that you are the designers of your life. You can write the story you desire for yourself. Have you yearned for much and denied that it could happen? We are telling you now: this is the time to take the chance, to believe you’ve planted the seeds for all you want to be.

Can you allow yourself to emerge and grow into that being? Blooming season will soon be upon us, and you must believe in who you can be. Have you considered that you’ve kept yourself safe because emerging has been scary? Or maybe you’ve seeded a few things only to be disappointed, so you planted yourself even deeper. Emerging can be new and unusual, and that’s why you need to take the time to decide what you want to bloom into.

You can choose whatever you want. There’s no right or wrong. When it all comes down to it, what anyone is avoiding is fear. Fear holds no power if you don’t let it. It’s time for you to emerge. It’s time for you to bloom where you are planted. It’s time for you to take your energy and use it towards your own growth. If you do your imagination work, your willingness, and your “yes,” you will fertilize that seed into more.

Then, my darlings, we can talk about blooming. What will you grow into—a tree that shades others? Something that nourishes the souls of others? Your energy will exude the beauty and strength that others need. Your very presence can lift them up.

You think you need to get to a certain level—be something, have something, be debt-free, weigh the right amount, look a certain way in order to become all you desire. Those things are possible, but have you ever considered that you are perfect as you are? You don’t have to do anything to be deserving of more. You just need to desire more, imagine it into being, and emerge. And then, we watch you bloom. You’ve got this, beautiful beings. You really do!

Closing Thoughts: Keep Emerging

As you move forward on your journey of emergence, pick something that reminds you to keep growing. Whether it’s planting a new plant, buying a budding one, or creating a painting, choose an object that will serve as a reminder to continue emerging and expanding into the fullest version of yourself.

This is the season of new beginnings, and you are part of it. Keep pushing through, trust the process, and take each step toward the life you are meant to live. There is no limit to what you can create and grow into. So, let your roots dig deep as you emerge, and get ready to allow your branches to stretch to the sky. You are capable of incredible transformation.

I leave you with this beautiful poem of spring. We too have the ability to adjust and move our spring in any way we want. After all, we are the creators, aren’t we?

Spring is like a perhaps hand
E.E. Cummings
Spring is like a perhaps hand
(which comes carefully
out of Nowhere) arranging
a window, into which people look (while
people stare
arranging and changing placing
carefully there a strange
thing and a known thing here) and
changing everything carefully
spring is like a perhaps
Hand in a window
(carefully to
and fro moving New and
Old things, while
people stare carefully
moving a perhaps
fraction of flower here placing
an inch of air there) and
without breaking anything.
